Morning, hugs if you need one. Izzy, that sounds like a nightmare of a visit. Hope you are recovering. Thoughts for anyone else who is struggling either with illness, or life issues.
Our usual lazy Sunday, woke up to an offer for the old dining table, which at present is under the window in the sitting room causing a problem when I want to draw the curtains. Gentleman is coming to collect it today. We bought it over 30 years ago and it has done sterling service. We have a smaller table in the kitchen now
It has been wet, just now its quite cold, there is a cold wind too, sky very grey, some parts due to get snow but hopefully not us...thats according to 'he who knows'!
DB is a GGF for the 7th time, another little girl, apparently things did not go as they should and DGD is having blood transfusions. A worrying time.
I did manage to write some cards, but I need to get a few more, some need posting, so I will need a mortgage for them.
Veggies prepped for supper, also made raspberries in jelly for dessert. I have the last 2 pork steaks to cook.

Mexican Tortilla Bake - https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/mexican_tortilla_bake_28158 It's in my top three favourite meals to make.Izzy - what another nightmare, sorry that your trip was so awful.Ruby - that's good news about your DM, it'll be such a relief for everyone.I've filled the washing machine and set it off, filled the four bird feeders and put some hazelnuts in the squirrel feeder though my hopes aren't high this year. The woodpecker was using the sunflower hearts feeder this morning which puzzled me before I saw that the peanuts were frozen solid so I changed them over. The grass was very crunchy still. There's papers to burn in the chimera but I really don't want to go outside again. There's also a craft fair at a local hotel but again, I'm reluctant to go out especially as I don't want anything there.Today the advent pic is of a very grumpy looking owl (?) and a sweet badger eating some berries looking on.

Gers, your comment made me laugh, autocorrect strikes again, I don't think you'd be burning things in a chimera, unless that's the shape of your chimenea.9

Hi everyone,
Late posting from me today as I’ve been on a fundraising walk in the rain and mud! This is an annual event that my sister organises on the Sunday closest to DN’s birthday in aid of Papyrus. I left home at 8am and have just got in. Had to leave DH a flask and DS2 made him breakfast and lunch before going to work. Did pop to see my DMum afterwards and then to DN’s plot in the churchyard to lay flowers and ask him to look after my DDad on Tuesday when he has his op – every little helps.
I did well with the Christmas shopping yesterday and managed to tick many things off my list. Just a few bits for DS2 to go, plus I need to look for something shiny for myself as DH has a new watch that he chose last week.
Scarlett – enjoy your break
Dp1 – all good wishes to your DGD, bless her x
Izzy – what an awful day for you yesterday. Hope today has been restful.
Glad your DMum is okay Ruby x
Dinner is roast chicken for DH and I. Will be loads left as I still buy an extra large bird – strange not cooking for more people when I’ve been used to 5+ for dinners most nights. Will have roasties, leeks, carrots and lo cauli cheese from last night with it.
Looking forward to SCD results. I too gasped several times last night Gers – think the nerves are setting in.
Have a good evening all,
Coxy

Late again, been busy today, but just clearing up, filing, dealing with washing etc, nothing really to show for efforts. Dog walk just before dusk was so cold, think it might spur me on to finish the chunky snood that is on the UFO pile.
I dipped out of travelling to S Wales yesterday, but it seems that cousins and siblings had a great time, so pleased they were able to get together.
Coxy well done on your sponsored event, I am so sorry that you and your family know first hand how amazing this charity is. I followed the Three Dads walk and made a small donation as they touched my heart.
Hugs and spoons, batten everything down again and stay safe. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)10 -
Quite a bit of rain here today but we managed to avoid it on our walk to and from Church.
Put inserts in Christmas cards and did some crochet.
Had a chippy tea - ages since we had fish and chips. Enough left for another dinner with an added tin of mushy peas. Plus enough leftover chips to have with a fried egg for lunch tomorrow.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
