Preset Ideas Pls - Boat or A-Team!

Hi everyone,

I've got one person left to buy a present for, from our daughter to her godfather. Budget around £15.
He loves the A-team (but has the DVDs) and is planning on getting a boat soon (which actually scares me!)
We did order him an a-team t-shirt but when it came it was rubbish quality so am trying to arrange to send it back which is turning into a nightmare!
Does anyone have any ideas?
I was thinking about a book about boating or something, if they do a kind of high way code for water?! Other than that he doesnt really read and no real hobbies. He likes going to watch boxing matches but thats about it really!

Does anyone have any ideas please?
Thanks in advance.

How about a dry bag (which keeps everything, er, dry when you're out on the water)? Or one of those floating keyrings so that you don't lose your keys if you accidentally drop them over the side of your boat? Or a novelty coffee mug saying something like "Ship's Captain"?
  • Halfords had key rings that played different phrases from well known TV characters. There was one for BA Baracus (plus some for family guy.) I found them quite entertaining in a childish way. Price £7.99

Thanks for your replies - I'll look on halford website and see what I can find on them.
Like the idea of a dry bag but dont think he'd be very impressed with that!

Another idea was forgetting one present, but getting a couple of little bits - just ordered a finger trap for H which might be an idea for him too but thats as far as I got! lol!

I do not think that they are on the website - they usually reside on stands next to the checkouts.

Last year we got our friends some nice plastic glasses & plates for their boat along with a nice bottle of wine & put it in a nice box.

  • What kind of boat is it he is getting? I have just finished doing a sailing hamper for my dad and stepmum as they bought a yacht earlier this year. It has things in it like:

    Captain mug
    Captain baseball cap (ebay)
    First Mate baseball cap (ebay)
    All weather notebook (ebay)
Non-slip bowl ring (House of Fraser sale)
    Hot Water Bottles (Woolies)
    T-shirt (ebay)
    A nautical wooden box (ebay)
Book and DVD on knots (the works)
Handbag with sailing design (reduced in a sale)
    Laundry bag (poundland)

And various other bits and pieces.

Unfortunately it has not come cheap and we are giving it from all 3 of us. If it is a yacht you could check to see if it is stocked with first aid/kitchen items and put together a set of things for use on there.

Thanks everyone- I ended up ordered in a boating book last night for him. I'm going to see if I can find a halfords with those keyrings in as he's so childish sounds right up his street!
Its a speed boat (I think) so doesnt need kitchen stuff or anything like that otherwise that would have been fairly simple to find things for him.
    Thanks again
