Avios to Nectar points

has anyone been able to convert Avios points to Nectar? The Avios (British Airways) site states” We’re sorry, Avios auto-conversion is currently unavailable

We expect things to be back up and running soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Does anyone know when this is going to happen? I’ve got loads of Avios points I wanted to use for the Christmas shop.

Yes, this has been true all week and maybe longer! I first tried on Monday. I am in the same boat as you, attempting to transfer points for Christmas and, with BA already taking 10 days to do the transfer (how is that still a thing in 2021!!), time is running out.

I have also posted on this here in the hope it may get some attention.

The auto conversion to Nectar has NEVER worked, those of us that have been successful have done it over the telephone. As  jong999 says above, theres more about this in the thread he shows the link for. I would copy and paste your post to that thread. The "we expect things to be back up and running soon" has also been on their web page since day one....They seem very reluctant(as I've stated before on the other thread) to exchange Avios to Nectar.....When I eventually got through to them on the phone, my Avios were converted without much bother.

This is new though @l@leadhead. Now the manual transfer does not work and they say the same system problems prevent them doing it on the phone. Pretty big deal I think!

Sounds a bit of a lame excuse to me....I think they set this up, hoping more people would swap the other way, Nectar to Avios...after all, Avios will help their business, and maybe it hasnt happened as expected and they have no Nectar points to exchange.

I fear that might be the end of Avios to Nectar.....so far (going on for months) I've not (imho) heard a valid excuse why it shouldn't work both ways.

You can bet that when/if Avios to Nectar exchange returns it'll be on a one to one basis and not 250 to 400. So annoyed. I've got sooooo many useless Avios that I want to convert to lovely Nectar points.

After waiting several weeks for the problem to be sorted out, it is still not resolved.  I wanted to auto-convert from Nectar to Avios and use the Avios for a reduction on the cost of flights.  Most of my Avios auto-converted to Nectar points today.  What an utter shambles!  I've emailed BA to let them know I will be booking with a different airline.

Thank you for sharing the magic trick.  Can you please be so kind and explain how to change the useless Avios points to Nectar or Tesco or Asda or even to a local take away.  I am unable to see any benefits of Avios points EXCEPT to book flight or hotel which also DOES NOT work.  thanks

It’s funny how we all differ, I fly business class for £1 each year because of my avios points. Never known such a generous points system as avios.
