To save muppets like me from last year, you can drag and drop into the empty space in the puzzle from anywhere. You don't have to "slide" a puzzle piece from next to the empty space.

You can use this solver to help. You just assign a colour to each tile, and tell it the order it needs to end up in (remember to ask for a new 3x3 grid first - and leave the blank space empty)
