  • The article states that you are looking into 13-17 year old who have had 1 vaccine. What about 12 year olds as they still need to be double vaccinated to travel to Spain? My son turned 12 in October and has had 1 jab as requested, yet we now can't travel in December
  • Same here. Son is 15 and has had one jab - booked to drive through France to Spain on 17th December but he's the only one without double vaccination status so trip is looking to be off for all of us. The communication from Spain says minors under 12 travelling with parents are ok without vaccination but that doesn't help those of us with minors 12-15 (legal definition of a minor in EU is under 18)! I did check with 119 and there are no current plans for a second vacc for under 16s
  • @Hippocrocoduckadacadil it's a nightmare. I don't understand why there can't be any leniency for this age group as its completely out of their control. Even if they were able to be double jabbed, they have no way of proving this? You would think that they would use common sense given the fact they would be travelling with double vaccinated parents too.

It's all a nightmare. My son has a flight to Geneva to ski in France. Switzerland are saying that anyone arriving at Geneva must isolate in Switzerland for 10 day.

Just because the parents have had two jabs doesnt mean their kids will have had any, does it?

In which case he needs to take a flight that lands in France (Grenoble/Lyon ?) but depending on French announcements due today that option may be ruled out.

To be fair none of this should be 'a nightmare' - warnings have been many/often that the situation for this winter is far from clear-cut and anyone booking trips must be prepared for last minute changes/cancellations and associated costs/losses

Well yes, of course. Anyone with any sence (young people probably lack that) will have booked a package but many who have a place to stay out there won't have done. I only added the comment because the article doesn't mention the problem.

I think you're missing the point
  • No, I dont think I am. The suggestion clearly was that if the adults are double jabbed then the kid must have had at least one as well.

Covid is a person to person transmissible disease. Doesn't take much common sense to see how to reduce this.
