Do you check your payslip regularly?

I think it depends on how you are paid etc... when I was on hourly rate, getting sales commissions and overtime then absolutely double checked it every month.
Now effectively salaried with no overtime, no commissions etc then I look at the bank's automated alert when the pay goes in and if thats not what I expected I then go and look at the slip or if I were to change anything (eg sign up to a pension) then make sure it shows correctly on the next payslip or two.0 -
I only get online pay slips now, there seems to be a mix of those eager to check their pay as soon as they come online and others that check the bottom line through their bank on pay day.
I did have someone ask me last week how to access the pay slips, they'd never done it bearing in mind we've been WFH since March 20 and they've also been promoted in that time, but not once queried their payMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Yes, if you are paid the same each month, then checking bank account is probably all you need to do. I am one who likes to know where all of the personal info, payslips etc are stored and sent when I start working somewhere new, but I am also in the boat of having regular overtime each month which needs checking.0

I get an online payslip with an e-mail reminder. It takes me a couple of minutes to log in, check it looks right (shouldn't change form month to month) and save a pdf copy. That's good enough for me.I need to think of something new here...0

I always check mine, even though I have a static wage/salary, but I also check my bank daily and update my monthly budget every 2-3 days based on unplanned spends. I think most people on the forum are financially aware or working towards reducing debts, mortgages or saving for the future, and this is probably going to be a biased audience for your question.
I do know a few people who don't check their pay slips, but they are not necessarily money or finance focused.

Only if I'm expecting or planning a change or if there's a change in the amount that goes into my bank account. I don't have any overtime and expenses are reimbursed separately so it would take two or more extraordinarily coincidental value changes to happen yet not affect the amount into my bank account. I therefore figure it's a bit of a waste of time that I could be using more fruitfully.

I'm self-employed so it's been a long time since I had a payslip, but when I did, I used to check it.
That said, I spend a lot of my working life going through other people's finances and in my experience, a lot of people don't check or pay much attention to their personal finances - for instance, a lot of people can't tell you (even approximately) how much is outstanding on their mortgage, how much they have in savings and/or debts, often people don't know what their spouse or partner earns, and similarly, also of people don't have much idea about their outgoings . I find too, that a lot of people are not familiar with the entries on their pay-slips , so if I ask what an entry is (usually memberships, union fees etc, but sometimes things like salary sacrifice or payment of a debt) they often don't seem to know.
So while I find it personally surprising that people don't keep an eye on their personal finances, I've seen enough to see that it's very common, so I would not be surprised to learn that many/most people don't check their pay slipsAll posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
