Received final payslip/p45 and been overpaid

I've recently switched jobs and received my final payslip. My first company have overpaid me a gross amount of approx. £2k as I took paid holiday at the end of my notice period and also been paid the number of days.

How should this be sorted out? If they ask me to pay back £2k, surely I’ll have lost out as I’ve paid income tax/NI on it? Plus they’ve provided me with a p45 already. :s

I am guessing the bit thats missing from the opening statement is that you took holiday but they also paid you for those days as untaken holiday?

You would payback the net and they adjust the records with HMRC to deal with the tax/NI.

Tax is increasingly digital and whilst HMRC are not cutting edge these things do sort themselves out over a relatively modest period of time compared to what it used to be.

Yep, that's what it looks like?

Is there a way for me to calculate the net to double check its the correct amount?

I've already given my new employed the p45 with the incorrect values. I take it the P60 would get corrected somehow then?
