  • I didn't get proof of postage, no  :( I should have thought of that, but I wanted to get it sent away asap because of this supposed five-day window before legal action

    If they do try to take you to court, the fact that you have written to them to try and resolve this beforehand will help. As long as you sent them to the correct address, it will look bad on them that the letters were ignored.

  • Don't worry about the proof of postage too much - and also don't worry about the threatened 5 day window - so far they have not done ANY of the right things to be able to actually issue proceedings against you! They CANNOT do that by email!
