CCCS app what do I say?

Right peeps been around for a few yrs, reading and so on, but the time has come to face this thing head on, there is more to life than being in debt and I have decided to meet this thing head on. I have an app on Friday ( my 30th birthday) to talk to CCCS.
I am feeling pretty rubbish but the fact MBNA just put up interest rate up to 25% has spurred me on to sort this problem out.
Ok well I have a mortgage and I really really do not want to loose my house and am hoping to get a DMP, but I am unsure how this will effect me and what the implications are.
CCCS told me to write to my creditors now and tell em that I am in talks with CCCS so that hopefully creditors will stop interest, now is this a good idea or not? Also my main bank I use has an o/d and a credit card with them, what should I do? I dont want them taking money from my bill account and putting it on my cc.
I have been paying everything on time and missed no payments yet, but our credit is screwed due to DH having a problem out of his control earlier in the yr with smile who withdraw his OD without telling him and as he was not using the account he didn't know until 3 months later they sent him a letter as account was £300 over OD limit. so that shows on his credit file as 3 missed payments.
I will do everything I can to pay this money we owe back, the money was only ever used to help pay bills that we could not pay, DH works full-time but with 25% of income going on his train fare alone we just have just got more into debt over the years. We have not used CC now for about 4 months ( as we have had an increase in income as I am a carer for for son) and did think that we were going to be ok, I just cant image how we can pay the extra mortgage and the increased cc payments, despite having trimmed down all out goings.
Well peeps thanks for listening!

You should be able to open a basic bank account like the Co-op Cashminder (you can open this on-line or over the phone). Several banks do basic accounts that you can open with no credit check. I certainly would to make sure your current bank doesn't start take money from your account to pay CC's.
Have you done an SOA? If not why not sort one out and post it up so the DFWers can have a look and maybe help you trim things down abit.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
After I booked my CCCS appointment I called them back three times to check various things...they dont mind..0

YOu need to make sure whoever you open a basic account with that its not connected to anyone you owe money too. If you are not sure list who you owe to and someone will work it out for you.
I opened a cahoot account before my credit history was majorally wrecked and halfway through my DMP purely for cashback I opened an A&L one on line and suprise I got it without an overdraft but thats good!
A DMP is much kindier to your credit history than bankrupcy or an IVA. From what you say you already have been effected so the damage is done. Companies will normally mark you history with a default and to say you are in payment agreements.
The plus side of a DMP is that your balance of life changes to this is what I need to live on and this is what is left for creditors where I suspect that you have in the past tried to live off what was left over. You do need to get some good saving skills, save for everything and when you thnk you have it covered save a little more for things you can't imagine!0 -
it is a good idea to write to your creditors, as you can have it on file for the future and some will acknowledge your letter and may start to freeze charges.
Good luck with the CCCS I had a fraught intial appt withthem but the lady I spoke to was great with me very calm and made me feel a lot better.

Taken from the Payplan website I believe this has all the related companies and DCA agencies they use etc0 -
Mint I believe are RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) so maybe Natwest is not the best have a look through the list see which options look the best for you.0

Only Mint is related, which is owned by RBS which also owns Natwest
