Help with a very old debt - Orange / Arrow Global / Resolvecall

Hi all,
Hoping for some advice on a letter I received today from ArrowGlobal / Resolvecall. They claim to be acting on behalf of Orange to recover a mobile phone debt. I knew nothing of this, but searching my email I can see I had some communication from Arrow back in August 2012 about it.
As far as I understand, this is WAY outside of the time allowed for them to collect this debt or do anything about it? Am I missing something? We're only talking a couple of hundred pounds, but I really feel like it's unacceptable for them to come back to me some 9 years later with a threatening letter.
What should I do?
Thank you

The Limitation act says 6 years is sufficient to collect a simple contract debt, so if you have not made payment to this account, or acknowledged it in writing for any period of 6 years, and no legal action has been started, then the debt will be statue barred.
You should send the "statute barred" letter and tell them so, sharpish.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thanks SourCrates, I'll try and dig out that letter on the forum and get it over. I've searched my emails and cannot find anything since 2012 and I'm confident I wouldn't have communicated over any other medium.0
