Current Comping Scam warning

Today I got a FB friend's request from 'Green Thumb Lawn Treatment'. I won't bore you with all the details, just to say, they said I'd won an iPad (by FB messaging). I proceeded very cautiously, Googling links, etc before clicking, as we sadly have to. But it did seem plausible. I got to where I was supposed to register with them and, surprise surprise, they needed my bank details. Obviously, I told them to poke it (without quite putting it like that). Later, on the real Green Thumb page, I found they'd mentioned that there was a fake account going round asking 'winners' to register and give bank details, and warning them not to comply.

Be careful out there, guys.

I reported them to Action Fraud - seeing as how Facebook were clearly going to do nothing to protect their users. Not sure if it's my report, or perhaps the genuine "Green Thumb" owners reported them too, but the fake page is gone now. Thank goodness.
