Having read some of the cross-referenced threads we sent off a request to HMRC for several tax years in the 80s/90s for my wife when she was in salaried employment as her state pension forecast shows a small COPE amount. We just got a one sheet list of employers and NI deducted with no information on pension schemes.0

I came across this - (but am not recommending the service!) - it seems clear that HMRC should be in a position to clarify any GMP/contracting out question.
