Secondment Question
[Deleted User]
I am currently on a secondment since July 2020 and which was initially for a 3 month period. Fast forward I am almost 18months into the secondment.
My secondment was extended several times but my last extension ended in September 2021 and I was never issued an extension but my previous role has been fulfilled.
I made enquiries about my situation as my new seconded role would incur a pay rise and I was told that paperwork was being done however that was in September and now it's almost December and still nothing despite further enquiries.
The company is currently recruiting considerably at the moment which Is frustrating me as I can't get my job role secured and yet new starts are getting their paperwork though. What should I do?
I'm essentially out of my seconded role, no contact from HR regarding a further extension, previous role as been filled.
I don't want to keep pushing and being an annoyance to management about my position but equally I don't want to keep pushing the can down the road either
Any help in approach would be helpful

Try a constructive approach (i.e. make it easy for the company to do what you'd like them to do) rather than asking 'When?'. Map out a skeleton letter from them to you and e-mail that, asking them to fill in the blanks - with a friendly and helpful e-mail saying you are trying to be helpful when you know they must be run off their feet... Absolutely nothing wrong with saying that you'd like the comfort of certainty before the Christmas period, or whatever you feel fits in with how you'd express yourself.Deleted_User said:I am currently on a secondment since July 2020 and which was initially for a 3 month period. Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
