MSE James spotted that Sainsbury's is offering mince pie porridge as a meal deal 'main' option.

Anyone tried it?
Would you give it a whirl, in lieu of a sandwich?

I knew that Christmas had officially started when I saw 4 houses decked to the nines last week.
I have no idea how this tastes but I cannot imagine it would be bad. The same effect might be achievable with a bag of generic oats a spoonful of jar mincemeat stirred in prior to cooking. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
Real sherry, but it only makes up 0.5% of the product (1.5g). Most sherry is around 20% ABV so that's 0.3g of alcohol (a unit of alcohol is 8g). Probably no more than you would get from the vanilla extract in a vanilla porridge!Tigsteroonie said:Real sherry or just sherry flavour?

Full details are here - strange that the main ingredient is yogurt rather than milk. I'm not sure how I feel about hot yogurt

Generic oats and a spoonful of mincemeat to flavour the porridge works fine. I used up a couple large jars of mincemeat that way, when they were heavily reduced post Xmas, makes a change from the dried fruit/seeds/banana/cinnamon variations to flavour the porridge.Rosa_Damascena said:I knew that Christmas had officially started when I saw 4 houses decked to the nines last week.
