The festive period is the highest spending period of the year for most people. So this week we want to know, including food, drink, decorations, presents, travel etc, how much do you typically spend in total on Christmas?

  • About a fiver.  And I resent spending that  :)
  • We’re not big spenders, we have a limit of £10 for gifts and then preferably homemade or church fete type items. But adding in petrol to travel to family for Christmas day, extra wine, champagne and luxury food items to contribute plus donations to favourite charities, and having friends and family round for our traditional mid December sherry & mince pies reception, the total spend would be around £500.

However as I save up Nectar points all year to spend at Christmas and stock up during Sainsbury’s buy 6 get 25% off wine and champagne in November, the actual cost in cash would be more like £300-350.

  • I thought there might be an option - I don't celebrate Xmas. But there wasn't.
Maybe an idea for next time?  :)

The intent of this poll wasn't to gauge how many people celebrate christmas, it was how much you spend. It would be completely pointless to have every poll require an option stating "I do not belong to the demographic that this poll is aimed at and thus can not contribute to it, but I still want to be included"
