Sainsbury's probation and Covid 19

Hi there
I work for Sainsbury's and have done so since middle of last month so I am on probation. I have Covid 19 symptoms so I have rung in to say I will not be in and that I have booked a test (which I am taking later today). I have not been sick during my time there as yet. The guidance is pretty clear about what happens if you do have Covid, it doesn't count towards your absences as regards attendance management etc but what if you don't?

Until you have the test it is sensible to take the precautions you are taking. As long as you show them the test result, which you will get whether the result is positive or negative, I wouldn't expect any problems. You have called them to let them know the situation so are comply with normal requirements from a company to inform them of illness a.s.a.p.
