Hi, looking for some guidance here as it's been a horrible year, my husband was made bankrupt this year by local authority for business rates, OR promised to keep in house but suddenly passed to Insolvency Practiitioner who are chasing c£180k and increasing because our home is in my husband sole name. Simply a matter of family dynamic. I have put my all in our home and it would seem my solicitor is claiming i need to dig out all information from 10 years back to show i contributed to any thing in the house. I pay bills and child care costs while hubby pay for mortage. Sadly he was declared bankrupt but didnt tell me before as i was very ill with covid at the time. Big issue and question is : how do i fight for my share of the property? my solicitor seem to be working for the IP rather than develop strong ideas to help resolve the issue and they charge a fortune. They insist i have little or no chance and because of the significant equity in the property the IP have suddenly moved from 45k to 180k within 3 months. My family and I are at brink of losing home and the last 10years worth of hard labour? Where do i seek guidance. Hubby is too depressed to take any action or fight.

This is really a matter for a solicitor, as its legal advice you need here.
I would suggest trying to find one who offers a free consultation, somewhere local to you.
Other than that, the only online help I can point you to, would be the "Legal Beagles" website, they may be able to advise you better on this matter.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
