Just a quicky... where do I find a breakdown of payments I've made to HMRC? (sole trader self-assessment account)
I paid £800 in July but can't find any record of it on my account but it's probably hidden away somewhere.

Are you checking your online account, or paper statements?
If online, there should be an option to "view statements". Paper, you would need to look for the statement produced after the payment was made.
When you made the payment, did you use the correct reference number? If not then you may need to contact them with proof of payment to ask them to trace & allocate the payment. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
