Effect of Covid on childcare vouchers

I wondered if anyone else finds themselves with a surplus of childcare vouchers due to Covid?  We had saved up a significant sum to carry our children through school holidays etc but for the last two summers we have not been able to use them because many settings were not running and also we were working at home and didn't need them so much.  One of our children is already 15 and the other only has two years to go.  We do not currently think it is possible to receive a refund on the particular scheme we are part of so we stand lose hundreds of pounds.  And if that is the case, where does the money go - could we not at least direct it towards a charity rather than lining corporate pockets?
