Artificial Christmas tree spare parts

Hi, I have a 12 foot artificial Christmas tree that cost £1000, it comes in 5 sections, one plastic insert has gone missing since we put it up last year, I have contacted who we bought it from, the company that produced it only to be told they can not provide a replacement part, I have looked online and can not find anything similar anywhere.
I just wondered if anyone else had any experience of such things or any suggestions would be very much appreciated?

Do you mean a section has vanished or something slides through to keep the sections in place? 

Can you post a photo, as it will make it easier to suggest alternative fixes.

I assume this is something like a Balsam Hill tree - I thought they were supplied with spares for the loose parts when new?
