Easyjet overhauls hand luggage rules - but most passengers will now pay more

Easyjet passengers with standard tickets can once more take larger bags into the cabin. However, while this may be more convenient for some, you'll need to pay for the privilege - and for most it will cost more than double the budget airline's previous charge to put the same luggage into the hold.

New easyjet rules make me wish I hadnt booked my next 2 holidays through them. Other airlines now are cheaper for me. Hands free was great.0

Vueling are making changes from 23rd November.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Hands free was great and at least Ryanair still let you put a cabin size bag in the hold and it is usually around £15 each way sometimes less.EasyJet claims their cost is from £5.99 and usually around £15. It was £19.99 out and £21.49 return on my flight later this month. The same cost also for a family members flights in January.0

again, whilst those that 'obey the rules' others ignore:
my flight was full of people taking Suitcases onto the overhead lockers, despite (again) the threats to check sizes (none were checked).
This is so ambiguous it is unfair on those that DO only take 'small bags' as these are the first to be pulled out of the overhead lockers by the onboard crew.
Now EasyJet are imposing this disappointing 'Ryan-ruinAir style' additional scam, sorry cost, it MUST be properly enforced.
worth noting: if you book an EasyJet HOLIDAY (package holiday) you DO get a HOLD luggage included.

Really disappointed at the change.
For anybodys awareness who booked a flight before the 3rd November and who were going to add hands free the option has now been removed from the website. However, if you go to add an extra to your flight on the app you can add a large cabin bag to your booking for £5.99. You take it onboard as well, no checking it in!
Found that having a look myself, couldn’t see it listed anywhere on the website.1 -
