Just worked fine for me.

Yes, keeps returning to the same screen which lists all competitions. Even choosing "desktop site" (on Chrome on android phone) made no difference.

I'm not allowed to post links but this is how I got it to work for me on chrome.

In search bar type this exactly as you see it in either lower or upper case

THATSLIFE NOVEMBER COMPETITION

When search entries appear select the one that says That's Life issue 48/49 Competitions

When the That's Life web page opens select the small November edition image top left of the screen.
