Catchooky, I hope you aren't offended if I say that you really should think long and hard before you marry your BF. He sounds like hard work to me - you can't make him into a responsible adult if he isn't one by the age of 48 and I fear your married life will be one long struggle.
However, I'm sure you don't want to hear that and have no intention of ditching him, so making you feel better about yourself would be my first priority.
You say you have a weigh-in - do you belong to a slimming club? How are you doing? Try not to expect too much of yourself, ½lb a week lost adds up to almost 2 stone over a year and is achievable while still having little treats every day. You may like to join in with the Lose Weight thread on the "I wanna" board - there are loads of helpful people over there and lots of low-fat, tasty recipes too.
May I also suggest you take a packed lunch to work - it'll save you money and hopefully stop the urge to binge on crisps (very fattening and not very filling!!)
We need an SOA from you in order for people to get a handle on where you may be over-spending and where you may be able to cut back. Again, though, without your BF being on the same wave length, it'll be a much harder task (if not near-impossible)
Try offering the gym a full and final settlement, my daughter did that earlier this year, about 2¼ years into a 3 year contract. It cost about half of what the fees would have been for the remaining 9 months.
How much does your mobile cost? Can you try for a cheaper contract.
Have you tried signing up to do mystery shopping? This is quite well paid but you need to grab the jobs quickly as they're soon snapped up. Try https://www.grassrootsmysteryshopping.com
Good luck, I hope some of this helps.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Consultant, thanks, i know that the oh is v hard work and i've come really close more than a few times to ditching him, but I guess I love him even tho he has his faults. Maybe this time apart will help me work out my feelings for him.
Am trying to work up the courage to post SOA, although I have my statements to hand, as most may know, its terrifying getting them down on B&W so I may leave this task til Jan 1st.
As for food, i currently take a packed lunch in but due to the fact its a secure area, v tough tough bring things in like soup etc. i work beside a blokey who eats like a horse - mars bars for breakfast at 830am - and its so tempting!!! I do bring in ready meals from the freezer (my aunt buys these for me sometimes) or sarnies but the worst part for me is snackythings. I'm not really a fan of fruit and have a biiiiiig appetite. Am just going down to cook my own tikka masala from scratch so that will be partly for lunch tomorrow as well. Am a member of ww although I haven't been to a weighin for ages due to work (im on call for the shop work and the meetings near me seem to be quite far away) don't really have time in a break to get out of work, go to weighin, them come back thru security etc & start work.
Re the gym I'm going to let it run its course of finishing in March then use gym at wrk (wasn't eligible to use this when I signed up to the other one). Blokey who is a choc fiend will start a weightloss thing with me on first day back to work in Jan and we will get weighed by the doc, as well as me at ww. I'm going to put 1pound in a pot for every lb I lose and hope to have an absolute fortune for new clothes when i'm 7st lighter!!!
My mobile contract finishes in May so it will then go down to 15pounds per month. Signed up to a new fancy one on a cheaper contract but forgot to factor in that I have to pay for the old one too!!!
Anyways house is like a tip just now so am going to tidy up., list a couple of items on ebay, do ironing, make tea and have a bath. if i'm not asleep by then, i'll be back on. Thanks for input :-)NSD November 1/20 :money:
