CAB have a line about 'You can only exclude 1 vehicle from your assets and you can't exclude it if you only use it for work.' Both of those statements are misleading if not completely incorrect.
Edit: Actually the line before isn't right either. They say 'If your vehicle is worth more than £2,000, you don't have to include it in your assets if it's been adapted because you have a disability.' . Guidance says: 'Any vehicles that have been adapted for disabled people should be declared as an asset. If this applies, approved intermediaries should tell us at the time they submit the application. They can add this in the ‘any other relevant information’ section or email the DRO team.'1 -

Could a car still have mot and be road legal in the scrap value bracket?
the answer is yes but repair costs may be more than scrapping it and buying a new car but there is no lawful obligation to do so?0 -
