YouTube Videos

Hello everyone,
I am just thinking of starting a YouTube channel to try and make videos and earn money from it as a side business. However, I have a few questions about it and I was wondering if someone who already has a channel can help me answer them please!
1. I'm not sure if I will really get any good income from it, so at the start, I just want to make lots of videos. Do I start earning money from AdSense on the videos I create after setting it up, or does it also earn money on the ones before. For example, if I make 55 videos from now till next year and I end up setting AdSense next year, then will I earn any money on those videos or only on the ones I create after? In short, I am just wondering whether to set up AdSense immediately after making the account, or at any future time!
2. I'm planning to make sports videos and reactions based on them, now I've seen a lot of people create videos where they take a video e.g. from Sky Sports or something and then they play it in their video for 3-4 minutes (original), no changing the sound etc. and then after that, they react on the video. I was wondering, is this allowed in the guidelines?
From the guidelines, it seems like instead, you have to use small snippets of the video only and then react to it and repeatedly do this till you cover the whole video or you have to edit the original video using sound effects and/or commentate over it instead?
Can anyone tell me from experience what is allowed please!
3. Am I allowed to post links to YouTube videos on here to give examples of what I am referring to or is that not allowed?
Thank you!

You can start, got nothing to lose but only a few are making money from Youtube videos.
The more views you have can then have Ads etc.1 -
Hi SavingStudent1
YouTube is a great long-term plan for growing your income. You won't see immediate income as you can only monetize your videos once you have 1000 followers and 4000 hours (within a 12 month period) on watch time. You can then APPLY for the YouTube Partner Program. This is where a real person at YT considers the quality of your videos and looks at your analytics in the last year.
It's good that your asking these questions about what is allowed because it shows you really want to get this right first time. It will save you a lot of hassle in the long run. I currently have several channels. My most successful so far is called Streamer Sounds with 700+ followers but is not close to being monetised yet. However I do still earn a small income from posting affiliate links in the descriptions of my videos.
You can't upload copyrighted content unless it's for creative criticism like you say. You'll need to add commentary if using the content you're suggesting. My partner watches someone who does Basketball videos. They cover most popular moves from players, pivitol moments from players history and their views on games. They are monetized. I can't remember the name of the channel sorry.
I wish you good luck with yours and if you have any more questions I'll try to answer.Total debt 12/18 £9365.74 | Now: DEBT FREEHouse Deposit 11/21 £11,192 | Need £25k2 -

Thank you so much, that really helps. I understand it now and I'll probably try to follow that and if I have any more questions, I'll let you know - thank you!1
