EDF refuse to accept I've moved to EON

I'm in such a bizare situation where I signed up with EON on the 28th September, the switch took place on the 7th October but EDF have refused to ackowledge I've moved.
I'm now in the situation where I've paid EON £185 twice as you have to pay up front, but also EDF ahve taken two payments of £171 the latest one being today (the account is now £698 in credit). I hadn't cancelled the direct debit as it was left in place for the credit to be refunded.
I spent all day talking to both providers on Friday, and both are admanant they are my current provider - Both quoting the national database. I've provided photos of both meters and the serial numbers and they've confirmed their records are correct.
I can see the unit price on my Smart Meter has been updated with the new prices from EON, and on searching www.findmysupplier.energy it shows EON is my new gas provider. I am unable to confirm this for electricity.
Any idea's how I can force EDF to stop charging me and refund my credit?

You don't need to leave your DD in place to get a refund. They can send you a cheque. If a DD has been taken incorrectly, you can use the DD Guarantee to get the bank to make an immediate refund.3

Explain that you switched away from EDF but they have continued to take payments, contrary to the provisions of the Guarantee.2. Cancel the DD so EDF can't take any more payments.

As above, check the database yourself, they can't both be right. Once that is done contact your bank and recall the DD paid to the supplier that does not have your supply.

The post code checker only worked for gas and the map was not accurate, but turns out the electricity is managed through ESP which doesn't have an online search available, so I've dropped them an email asking who they have showing.1

Ultimately given my gas supplier has been confirmed as EON on the DB, and the unit price for electricity correctly shows that from EON, I'm 99% certain the switch has taken place.
So that leaves me with an adamant EDF saying they haven't even had a switch request, and no way to get at some of the credit they have (I've got todays payment back from my bank). Also worried that now I'm refusing to pay them I'll end up cut off.1 -
No you wont get cut off.
And you have been told how to get payments back in the first three replies.0 -
That's not entirely correct - I have now got some back from my bank but ultimatly I need a final bill from EDF to sort out what needs to be deducted from the remaining credit and it be refunded.emmajones1976 said:No you wont get cut off.

Unfortunately you may have to wait a while. Six weeks for the final bill, another two weeks for the refund.1
