Just paid off my mortgage and in the termination letter am told that I must employ a solicitor to remove the charge from virgin. Any ideas how much this would cost me and how to go about finding a reasonable solicitor?

Yes, of course I could have but I didn’t and that is why I posed the questions! Instead of trolling my thread, could you not have just raised your own thread on the pros and cons of leaving title deeds with a lender?Thriftmaster1973 said:Could you not have just left £100 owing and leave the mortgage "active" until it's natural end?Abandoned0
