Cost of tax advice for self assessment.

Morning,

I am looking for a rough idea what is the ball park cost for hiring an accountant / tax specialist to assist with self assessment tax return in England.

Thanks

depends on your area, annual income and complexity of the income. It is what ever your local area charges, or getting someone in a different city if you don't mind it all done remotely.

As usual get 3 quotes and choose the one you like.

But ballpark around 100+ at least

As you say - it really does depend on the complexity. However, at £100 you may just get what you have paid for. I can’t imagine any reputable accountant or tax advisor prepared to charge less than £200-£250 for this service.

Is it a tax specialist you want or an accountant?  Tax specialist will cost more than accountant.  If you have normal business procedures with vat and you have input records into a system then a couple of hundred.  If you have multiple businesses, properties, complicated different taxes HMRC investing then how long is a piece of string.

Thank you @csgohan4, @[Deleted User] and @comeandgo. I am a basic tax payer but first year landlord so self assessment is new to me. The info I have is what I was looking for. I just want a bit of hand holding to make sure I am filling in the forms correctly.
