Additional Statutory Paternity Pay or Shared Parental Leave

Good Afternoon,

I was hoping someone could assist me with a few questions around parental leave.

I am due to become a father and we are expecting a baby in March 2022.

I have asked my employer for their patternity leave policy details and been provided with some documents, The document references 2 types of leave in addition to standard pat leave, Additional Statutory Paternity Pay or Shared Parental Leave

Are these not the same thing? Can someone explain the difference between the 2?

My partner is taking 32 weeks off which will leave me with 7 weeks i can take as Shared Parental Leave & Pay. Would this be the same thing as Additional Statutory Paternity Pay / Leave

Thanks in advance
