Good morning all.
I've been in a DMP with Stepchange for a number of years, I am in recovery from gambling and drug addiction (3 years and 2 months sober!) and obviously had a lot of wreckage from the past to clear up. At my current payment level I was looking at around 9 years to be debt free.
I have been at my current job for 5 years and have had the opportunity to take Voluntary Redundancy and receive a really good settlement package. I never expected the opportunity so thought it was a good idea to settle all of my debts. I have made Full and Final settlement offers to all of my debts and attached a budget and debtor list showing that they have all been offered the same.
I assumed that some would counter, some would accept however I was sure my biggest loan debt (£2758.45) wouldn't accept as they've never sold the debt on. However I decided to give it a go and this morning they were the first to respond accepting my offer of £828 as a final settlement for the outstanding debt.
It's a great start to the week and a big relief. I will be sure to keep the thread updated with responses from my other creditors. I have 10 creditors with a total debt of about £11600.
Hope everyone has a great week.
