This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light, dry and cooler than it has been. Wind had a really chilly bite to it yesterday.
DH watching catchup tv. DS1 still in his pit. I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and a brekkie bar whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Yesterday dinner was breaded chicken steaks, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and veg. Ice creams for dessert. Tonight I'm not sure but have plenty so we can decide later.
I was productive yesterday and got everything done I wanted.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc. The drive down yesterday was really quick, hardly any traffic on the road, apart from a loose herd of cows blocking my way two hundred yards from home. 🤣 That made me turn round to go the other way whilst phoning the lovely farmer. Once in Glasgow I did my tour of tip, bank (was in there ages), M&S (twice - went to the wrong one first time round ☹️) and Boots. I treated myself to a small bottle of my favourite perfume, Coco Chanel, as the I have is six years old and smells a bit off. Then I had a delicious lunch in the lovely Italian'ish cafe before my dental appointment.Dental implants are finally in and fit really well. They are back teeth, two in the left side and one in the right, and almost invisible to others unless I do a huge guffaw! For now they feel huge inside my mouth though I'm told that will wear off soon. 😀 I'm so glad that it's all finished. This morning I'm looking forward to an hotel cooked breakfast before meeting DM"s crossword friend. There'll be some light shopping too before heading home. There's heavy rain forecasted for early evening and I've heard that the main road over The Rest is closed again with a convoy up the Old Military Road diversion. That'll be 'interesting'.My thoughts are still with our missing and poorlies. Happy Saturday to all.12

Morning All
Beautiful weather yesterday, dry this morning but cloudy. Bedding in the WM, may hang it out for a while for a blow. I'm going swimming in the loch this morning, it'll be icy cold but I'll not stay in long.
Went to do a bit of shopping with DD and the little one after work to get her a new snowsuit from Decathlon, we were in there ages playing with all the balls.
Must visit the allotment this morning, a bit of shopping to do, some housework then a relaxing afternoon I hope.
Glad your mouth is all sorted now Gers, enjoy breakfast!
Thinking of the poorlies.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX11 -

Morning folks and thanks NMLC for our start. It feels much milder this morning but lots of cloud cover which is supposed to stay with us all day. At least no rain!
The broadband was acting daft earlier, it didn't know whether to let me in or not so I downed tools and did a couple of little jobs instead! I'm kicking my heels now whilst waiting for the first bus into town. Then I plan on catching the bus along to the next little town for a wander round and a little bit of light shopping. Not much is needed as I have a delivery due Monday.
This afternoon will probably be a slothful one with my feet up reading. My current book is almost finished and I have another that I am itching to start.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Good morning,
Had a lovely walk yesterday, it was quite blustery but stayed dry.
My Father had been saving some miniatures of gin during lockdown to share with us when we could all get together again, so last night my sister and I drank some of them and raised a toast to him❤
I have a bit of a headache this morning but a couple of paracetamol are sorting it out.
No plans for today so will see how things go.
Have a good day x🌻12 -
Morning all
Dull and overcast here but no rain due I have the towels on a hot wash so will get them on the line for a bit. Its turned much cooler here much to my releif as I seem to be in an almost permanent state of hot flush atm which is not fun ! We lit the log burner last night which was very cosy.
The confident manager at work tested positive for covid yesterday I sat next to him Mon and Tues we have to wear masks at work but he wears his under his nose so no point wearing it really ! He was coughing and spluttering Mon and Tues so I will be interested to see if I catch it again or if I have antibodies, its one of our busiest weeks next week being half term and halloween so we are now really short staffed but I am sure we will manage.
Going to to a bit of housework this morning and then get out with the dogs for a long walk will take some sandwiches with us.
Dinner tonight is steak with hm chips roasted tomatoes and garlic mushrooms I am looking forward to it and OH will cook which is a bonus.
Have good days all and stay safe xxx12 -
Morning, hugs if you need one.
Well after the debacle yesterday morning, I received a message telling us that there was to be a walk in session at the sports hall where we had our original jabs. It had been organised by the local Round Table. We set off to go into town. When we arrived at the sorts centre, there was a queue, so I told DB to get out and stand in the queue whilst I parked the car and then joined him. We waited about 20 minutes before the doors opened and it was a steady stream to get inside. By the time the doors had opened the queue was back on itself, by the time we got out have been stabbed, it was about where we joined it earlier. So we have now had all the jobs and also the booster.
DB was to the surgery this morning for his flu injection, the nurse told him that they had had a lot of calls yesterday so we were not the only ones affected.
After DB got is jab we travelled on the the farmers market for fruit and a few bits of veg.
I have a couple of little jobs to do, will go over and see B after lunch. Her son and his wife are there today doing more packing up. They are going to the flat later to shampoo the carpets, hang the curtains and put some of the things away in cupboards etc.
All day breakfast for supper tonight. We will have a few strawberries for dessert. I also want to make an apple crumble for tomorrow.10 -
Lunchtime already! Dull but dry day.Watched DGS footie this morning. It was on a real grass pitch (lots aren't) surrounded by trees a few miles away. Lovely and peaceful compared to 'home' matches when there can be 3 or more games simultaneously . Just marred by the game having to stop to pick up 3 lots of dogpoo Back home before we meet up with DS & kids again , & also my DB2 and niece to watch the town teamI'm making a chicken curry for when we get home so looking forward to that.Gers glad your treatment went well. Hugs to the missing and under the weather, and hope you all have a good day x

Bright day here but chilly. Today will be our first day in for a week.
Doing wraps for dinner to use up some salad bits. Will do a tray bake to take along to Church - nice to have a bit of cake with a cup of tea after the service.
I finished some more snowmen for the planned sale next month. I can pm a link to YT videos if anyone wants to make snowmen.
