Civil Service Application Status

Hi guys, hoping someone can help at all. I applied for a job closing date 03/06/21 and was successful in sifting stage. I completed a prerecorded video interview submitted 14/09/21 and I have still had no update. I have noticed on my application status it has changed to “application update” but that is all, not really a clear indication of what stage they are at in the recruitment process. I’m going with no news is good news as on review of their website, it states, unsuccessful applications and reserve list applicants are sent an automatic email when updating the system to advise of their interview outcome. In the past when I have been unsuccessful in apply for a CS role I have received the outcome within 2 weeks. However this particular application has taken longer due to the volume of applicants - 319 post available at time of application being completed. Any help or advise of the status would be much appreciated. I’ve asked a couple of friends who work for the DWP where I’ve applied and they said to email recruitment, which I have but no response so far. Thank you in advance

Long term Civil Servant here
Was this job advertised on the Civil Service jobsite or where you recruited through an agency ?
If it was through the jobsite then you will have to wait for them to contact you, if it was through an agency you will need to contact the agency.
Civil Service recruitment *can* be slow so if you see other jobs I would recommend applying for them
Finally, it helps people to read posts if you use paragraphs.1 -
When I applied, back in about 2006, it was nearly 3 months from the initial interview before I heard anything else. They didn't have the online system at that time.

I also emailed gov recruitment last week. I have since received a response advising I can expect an outcome by end of this week, will keep fingers crossed.
I do have job alerts on, so if I see anything else I will apply. I must admit the application process is lengthy so I have at times started and not had enough time to complete ie tests, statements etc. Hopefully have some good news by Friday1 -
