Buying a new build house

Hi Everyone,
My partner and I are looking to buy our first home together but struggling in the current property market (keep being out bid etc.) A new development is going on sale but the company are selling ‘off plan’ meaning there is no show home to view before purchase. I’ve done some research and the company seems legit and buying ‘off plan’ seems to be the norm across the water. Just wondering if anyone had any advice, hints or tips on progressing with this? In my mind it seems risky but it’s also my first time buying a house so I’m pretty clueless with the process.

The only thing I would say is if you do go ahead with a purchase, get a professional in to do your snagging list. New build homes are put up so quickly, they often cut corners or are off sub standard finish.2
