AP 22 months ago and history of missed payments

My partner has perfect credit history, we had a mortgage together paid on time for 7 years.
I had an AP 22 months ago and prior to that missed payments. Nothing since the AP 22 months ago.
Looking for a shared ownership mortgage right now and i've read lots about how AP are so much worse than a defaults and missed payments and now I'm wondering if its at all possible or if we are going to get declined at the full application stage.
We have been through a broker who got an aip with santander a few months ago but didn't find anywhere to move to. We are looking into shared ownership now buy I'm scared it we are going to get declined at full application.
Does anyone have any positive stories with an AP or any knowledge?
I'm waiting to hear back from a different broker but it's keeping me awake.

APs are no worse than defaults, the upside to defaults is that it draws a line in the sand, the downside is it is a default.
An AP is not as bad.
I do not do shared ownership, but 2 years clear more or less should be going in your favour.
There is also an "adverse" lender releasing some shared ownership products next month so worst case scenario you will probably have that to fall back no but there will be a jump in rates from SAntander so hopefully your broker can get that or something similar for you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
