I was recently made redundant and now on JSA. I remortgaged last year to extend my house and now have 7 years to pay. My mortgage alone is £693 and according to the benefits office i cant get any help with it until ive bedn unemployed for 9 months by which time i prob will have lost my house after paying 24 years with no miseed payments. How long can i ask my mortgage providers for a holiday period and will this affect my credit ratings? Any other advice would be welcome thank you

You can certainly ask for a payment holiday or ask to be put on interest payments only but it will affect your credit rating. In the short term can you take in lodgers or try the supermarkets, they seem to be taking on their Christmas staff soon.0
