Couldn't for the life of me remember entering it, so I was a total muddle-head. He asked if I read the mag, and I said no...I asked if I entered through the website, and he said no, email...which threw me (of course, I had to go through the website to enter, duh!)

He then put me on hold for a few seconds, came back and said 'sorry, false-alarm' and swiftly hung up...

...Argh, my heads still spinning...!!!!!! just happened?

oh dear. perhaps you should have said you read it? =/ still they shouldn't have hung up on your like that!

you should ring them back and say that someone entered for you.

Look on the bright side, he may have been trying to flog you a subscription to the magazine ~ which is happening quite a bit. They start off by saying "Did you enter a competition to win...." a bit like the emails congratulations to the winner. They think its a way of stopping you putting the phone down immediately.

I reckon Furndire's right about it being a sales call cos the closing date was 14 Nov and it says the winner would be notified within 14 days. That is sooo disappointing tho.
