On the subject of a SOA for a DRO - how does the IS apportion a couples costs per month vs 1 applicants income?

In this case the outgoings (very basic) are £1000/ month with only the applicants £950 pension coming in

    (allowing £350/month for food for 2 )

This is really nothing to do with the IS, your assuming bankruptcy reg`s apply here, they don`t, a DRO proposal is put together by an intermediary, this will be inline with current guidelines etc, and whatever your individual budget requirements are.

In order to qualify for a DRO, you must have £75 or less, left per month, after all essential payments have been made.

Its like a light switch decision, £75.01 you would not qualify.
The DRO intermediary works with you to achieve this.

All the IS does is check all details are correct, and then rubber stamps the application, a DRO cost`s £90 and that doesn't buy much IS time to be honest.

  • Interesting comment from businessdebtline of S/E DRO..

"If the debts are personal, not business debts, a DRO can be had with normal (none business) agencies"
