I know this will spark debate but... (re: last minute ticket selling)

I've won tickets to something tomorrow, but due to the nature of the place and the kind of crowd that are likely to be there, I will not be attending (my mum has a bad back and is scared she will get knocked around by drunks). I was not aware that the tickets I was entering for were standing - I would have absolutely loved to go if they were seated! I didn't enter to profit from these, but at the same time I don't want my win to go to waste.
What's the best way for me to get rid of these tickets, apart from giving them away? Bearing in mind I have less than 24-hours. Do people tend to buy tickets outside of the gig? I'm a bit wary of doing that in case I get into trouble.
Help?!

if its sold out then you may well find people that come to the gig trying to buy one. if its close by give it a go
what/where are they for ?
you could always list on ebay for collection at the concert0 -
it is sold out, the tickets are selling for double the face value on ebay. i have just listed them anyway... i'd rather get something for them than nothing. i'm just scared i might be left with the tickets and then they'll completely go to waste!0

What are the T&C's that accompany them? Are they able to be resold - you don't want to put them on EBay only to have an angry buyer who couldn't use them?
You could always offer them for free.......but then as you say you'd 'rather get something than nothing'......

My ex did this to me last week. I had tickets for UB40 he had known about since Aug. We decided to still go, and last Mon I wake up to a text saying he could not go - was furious but put them on Ebay 36 hrs before concert and got £50. Lost £35 but at least I got a little for them. The buyer was so nice and even did a 50 mile round trip to pick them up.
Good luck xx0 -
I'll give them away if noone bids on ebay, I'm sure someone will take them for free (though they'd have to pick them up!)
How will the venue find out that they've been resold even if their t&cs say they can't be resold? There is no name on the tickets.0 -
try scarlet mist - it's an ethical ticket trading place & when I've had spare tickets due to people dropping out the people have come & collected the ticketsnothing to see here, move along...0

I won tickets to the NME awards tour last year but I couldn't go as my baby was due the next day, however my husband and step son were going to go! About two weeks before my stepson found out it was his anniversary with his girlfriend so could'nt go....I ummed and arred about going (was very active and been to some gigs a month perious) however lucky decide to sell the tickets as that day I was taken in as baby had a declinded heart beat....everything was fine I went home but the next morning at quarter past midnight i went into Labour....If we'd gone to the gig we would of been traveling home!!!!! My baby boy (now 10 months arrived pretty quick for a first baby and was born at 5.45 in the morning!
Sorry about that....just brought back memories!!0 -
