Tax Return & Interest

Please can someone tell me if the amount of interest earned is entered in full, or only the amount over the £1,000 Personal Tax Allowance?

You enter the full amount of interest received.
  • Thank you very much. I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere on the tax form, or the guidance sheet.

I suspect that's because you are overthinking it  :)

There is no allowance for interest, it is all taxable (excluding tax free things like interest from an ISA) but some may fall to be taxed at 0% courtesy of the savings starter rate and savings nil rates of tax.
