Phone contract upgrade while in BR question.

Hi

I am in the 10th month of BR. My BR ends mind December. The mobile phone I use for work has gone faulty and I am using a relatives phone at the moment, I am in a contract with EE who has been sending me messages to upgrade, but I have not done due to the value of the contract being above £500, which means I would be breaking the BR rules. Can someone confirm this please?

I believe you have to tell the service provider you are undischarged bankrupt

Thank You. The issue is that it is an existing contract and when I go on the process of upgrade page it does not asks any financial questions. May just leave it for another 2 months until discharged.

If its for work why don't they pay for it/provide it?  Can you get it fixed?  If you have an emergency fund then buy a cheap phone and go sim only

Thanks. It is a freelance work. Perhaps I would just wait for another 2 months. Been searching this subject on the internet and it seems many have been able to upgrade during BR without any issue. But my BR is nearly at the end so may  be worth to just wait it out.
