Will my bill go up?

I am currently on a “green” tariff for my electricity, I don’t have gas. My question is, if all the electricity I use is from renewable sources, as stated by my supplier, will my bill go up as, in theory at least, the gas price rise shouldn’t affect my supply? Any thoughts/info?

There's green and green. Some green electricity has its fossil fuel component offset by carbon capture schemes, like tree planting. Only a few suppliers directly buy green generated power. Of course it all gets mixed up in the grid. Either way it is an accounting exercise. So, at the end of the day, all suppliers are buying ay market wholesale rates, so you electrcity will be as expensive as everybody else's.You could buy a share in a windfarm, such as Ripple, but the ROI is about 14 years at present prices.

Is that a pig I see flying by?Your bills will go up just the same as everybody else's.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Have a look at this and then decide how they manage to sell you green leccy - http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/ . How do you think they sort out your "green" bit when 50% of the leccy is being generated by fossil fuels.
Have a look at the historical info as well to see when and how much green leccy has been generated compare with fossil fuels
