I have about £11000 worth of debt. This includes a Halifax loan and a few credit cards including Aqua. I paid the £3500 balance on Aqua off a year or two ago and have got it back up to where it was again. I have missed one or two payments but only by a day and have always ended up paying. I’m now finding most of my wages is just paying off my debt and having to use a credit card to get me through the last 2 weeks of the month. I am quite happy to remain paying all of them but the Aqua one is what I struggle with. I have tried asking them for help or a break for a few months but they said no as I’m not struggling (as I always pay). Do I start a DMP or do I start by contacting each company to see what they can do for me first? If I start a DMP, do I need to include all my creditors? I’m only young and I don’t want to do anything that would affect me in getting a mortgage eventually. Thanks in advance.

Start by completing an SOA. If you can cut out some of the inevitable wastage and make a few changes to how you manage your credit, such as paying on time and not building the card debt back up,you may be able to get through without a DMP.
And if you're thinking about a mortgage in the next few years, then a DMP would heavily affect you.0
