Moorcroft Debt Recovery question

Hello, I have a mortgage shortfall debt dating from before 2010 which was originally relating to a C&G mortgage. Initially, this was handled by Drydens Fairfax who eventually passed the collection to Moorcroft.
I have been trying to negotiate a F&FS with Moorcroft, so far without success, as they say that 'their client' is rejecting the offers. However, I contacted Lloyds TSB/C&G last week who told me that they had no record of the mortgage debt on file and that it would now (most likely) be owned by Moorcroft. If this is the case, Moorcroft are acting on their own account rather than for 'the client'.
I have contacted Drydens Fairfax to ask for information about the actual debt oenership position when they were handling the file (before passing it to moorcroft) and am waiting to hear.
Would anyone be able to advise if I can formally request information from Moorcroft about their situation to establish if they now own the debt or if they are acting for another company? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It would also be good to know of any F&FS outcomes achieved with Moorcroft. Previously, I achieved a F&FS on a £50k second mortgage for £3.5k with another company but I appreciate that this was an exceptionally good result.
Thank you.

As far as I am aware, Moorcroft only act as collectors these days, they no longer buy bad debts, they just manage accounts on behalf of their clients.
You will probably find that Dryden Fairfax now own your debt, and have appointed Moorcroft to collect it from you.
As you had doubts as to the ownership of your account, I would wait on the response from Dryden's.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I have just spoken to Drydens Fairfax who say that they were acting for Lloyds banking group, who passed the file to Moorcroft some years ago.
