Child maintenance final payment

Hi,

I am currently paying Child maintenance for my daughter which is a private arrangement between myself and my ex partner. My daughter turned 18 last week. After leaving school she enrolled in college full time and completed an NVQ level 2 course. In September she enrolled in college again to do an NVQ level 3, however she left the course last week as she wants to find a full time job instead. She is also going to apply for universal credit this week. Do I stop paying maintenance straight away or do I pay this until the end of November as according to the gov.uk website it says child benefit will stop 30th November.

If she's no longer in full time education then her mother should have reported the changes to HMRC and all benefits will have stopped. They don't continue to end of November because she's already left. If she hasn't reported the changes then they will end once your daughter claims Universal Credit. This means you no longer need to continue with child maintenance.
