When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation.  These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

    Morning all.

Today I joined lot of debt free challenges on this board, so that's something that should keep me interested when its all becomes a bit dull and restricting.  I'm also resisting turning the heating on and am currently wrapped in a sleeping bag with blanket round my shoulders.  I'm very cosy though so I don't care how daft I look.

I'm up to date on house work apart form a few dishes and a bit of hoovering I need to do later.
Lunch will be a baked potato with cottage cheese, and dinner is either veggie sausage and mash, or veggie burger and sweet potato chips depending on what I fancy later on.

I'm going to walk to the supermarket with my dog at lunchtime to buy milk, and I might have a look for the Nestle Nido milk powder.  It seems a very useful thing to have in the house even if I don't end up using it all that often.

Evening all.  Today was a quiet day. Looking forward to reading my new libarary book for the rest of the evening.
    1. Kept it a NSD even though I was tempted by chocolate when I passed the supermarket on my dog walk.
    2. I got in my 10000 steps.
    3. I organised my dog's health check and getting his vaccination certificate for the kennels.
    4. I booked the kennels for the night I am away in November.
    5. I phoned up and got the results of a blood test.
    6. I realised it was the 13th anniversary of me joining this forum
    7. Stuck to my meal plan
    8. Kept the heating off
    9. Shuffled my budget around to get everything to add up when I need it to.
    10. Lit some candles tonight to make it all pretty and hygge
