Nectar Points - Do I get them if I pay with Nectar

Sadly, no double up this year. I normally spend my points on wine. But there's a wine promotion 25% off 6 bottles coming up shortly. If I pay by Nectar points do I still get points for the value of what I buy?

You only get points for the amount you pay. Say you have purchased £70 of wine and other things and redeem £30 of Nectar points. This means you are paying £40 so get. 40 points3

I recently bought something at argos online using points , and after I paid the screen said I'd get the full whack. However it take about a month & a half for then to be applied, so it remains to be seen
What I've noticed in tesco when using clubcard points, is that you don't get the full amount at a manned checkout, but you do at the self service ones

Just noticed that I did actually receive 142 points from a transaction of a coupon of £142.00 sourced from Nectar points, all done online. I wonder if you only get the points if used via a gift card online, and not if using points directly instore. Does anyone know?0

A gift card is a payment method (like cash or debit/credit card), not a coupon. So yes, you would still get the full points for that as you are paying the full £142, albeit it didn't actually cost you anything!0

A few years ago, I thought that getting a Sainsbury's gift card using my Nectar points would mean that I received the points when using the card. But I didn't and so assumed that that spend was excluded too. So didn't bother again.
Perhaps I was unlucky or they have changed their tills or it depends on whether you use a staffed till or self-serve.0
