What is Attendance Allowance (when in employment)

I thought I had come by a job opportunity that was remote/work at home but now not so sure.
Rereading job advert it mentions “attendance allowance” bonus - does that mean they want to pay a bonus in these times for someone physically attending the work place? or could it be a reward for good attendance (eg. based on sick days).
I’ve come across shift allowance before but not attendance so just wondering/nosey.
The job has set day shifts and has a salary above min wage to start with.

At a guess, ad hoc payments for turning up without absence - an inducement to turn up to work if ill.
Doesn't strike me as having regard for the employee.1 -
Thanks, I’ve just never heard of attendance allowance. I think it indicates it pays out week 4 of completed training on ‘pro rota’ basis so propionate and wonder if it is trying to get people to travel to the head office to complete training, then you work from home.

Ask them. It's strange terminology - an allowance isn't usually also a bonus.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1

Post the exact wording of the advert as the meaning certainly isn't clear at present. The whole concept of paying people a bonus simply to be at work is crazy to me, but I have seen mention of it previously.

Many years ago I worked for a company who paid an attendance allowance. From memory it was about £20 per week (it was a long time ago) and paid if the employee turned up for all the rota shifts that week. A day sick meant the loss of that weeks allowance.

If you are saying I would really should receive state benefit without doing absolutely anything to secure employment, then what a sorry person you are and you are best supporting the work shy.
To the other smug comment - I’ve had 6 of 7 references returned promptly this last week which I feel is quite something. My new job being in jeopardy because of one reference which covers 20 odd days because the reference writer is having a baby which the NHS apparently can’t cope with.
And forgive me, for wanting a better job then the one I had or a pension plus other benefits people receive in work; I should be whipped silly.0 -

"attendance allowance"
where I worked 40 odd years ago some staff (generally civilian workmen) received an extra payment if they attended every day of the week they were rostered to attend - holidays, attendance on training courses, detached duty etc still qualified so they didn't necessarily have to be in the normal workplace to get the payment0
