Free Stuff

I'm getting emails from OfferOasis, a free stuff hosting website: https://www.offeroasis.co.uk/ which I'm sure I used to get ages ago. They provide links to freebies, samples and competitions.

Do their comps get posted on our comps board? If not, is that because nobody is doing it, because it's too spammy a site, or for another reason?

It made me think of looking for an MSE's Freebies thread, which I think is where I used to look for these sort of things. I found 2:

           Freebies (No Spend) https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/freebies-no-spend-required

But neither of them seem to show OfferOasis or similar offers. In fact, both of them don't seem to show that many recent freebies.

Is this something else that has changed here, as I think I remember getting quite a lot of freebies from them? If so would any other compers be interested in trying to build on those threads as a comping sideline?

I know that freebies are different to comps, but I think there is a connection - especially as sites like OfferOasis seem to link to both freebies and comps.

What do others think?

Not sure they run many competitions, they generally provide links to them



I don't touch them for freebies but I know someone who did and they get loads more spam than me - not necessarily direct from the freebie sites  - (they are not, but many similar sites are on the spam list).


Swagbucks has loads of offers from what I consider dubious sites  - set up an e-mail address just to try some and that gets swamped with invitations from "friendly" women, offers to make me 15 inches taller (I think) etc etc

Thanks mjm. I also think they provide links to comps and freebies, rather than running them themselves.

I guess what I'm really saying is that I want to make use of those links, but I don't feel right doing that, without sharing them here, both comps and freebies. The trouble is that I still can't get to grips with the search here. If I could, I would just search for the comps and post any that aren't listed. Same with Freebies. I want to post links to any I apply for on the Freebies forums, but I don't know if they're already there, or if they're not wanted, because of spam. I actually don't mind the spam emails. I have a splurge every now and then unsubscribing. Although, I wouldn't be thrilled to get that sort of spamming from "friendly" women or men - eek!

I don't want to dupe, or post them if they're not wanted, but I also don't want to take advantage of them myself and not share.  I used to get some nice freebies from them, or a similar hosting site.

Not sure for the comps if that is really any different to just taking them from other comp listing sites (where there are far more listed than on OO)  as they don't run them but just list them?  (which doesn't bother me)

I'm sure you're right about it being the same as posting them from the original site. If the flippin' search was user friendly (for this 'bear of little brain') it wouldn't be a dilemma. Thanks for trying
