Best mortgage brokers for self-employed borrowers?

MoneySavingExpert would like to hear your view on which the best mortgage brokers are for self-employed borrowers.
Did you go for one of the big UK mortgage brokers, or would you recommend going for a smaller, more specialist broker with experience of working with the self-employed?

I would suspect that the small localised firms are best for self-employed. Brokers like that tend to be more experienced than internet/direct options
