Any ideas where i could sell my concert tickets

Options
Didn't know where else to post, so apologise if its in the wrong place or i have annoyed anyone.

I stupidly bought 4 tickets to see The Verve in Manchester as christmas pressie'S for me, hubby & friends, however none of us can go for financial and childcare reasons. I am so skint that i can't afford not to sell these tickets on. Does anyone know where i can sell them? I have them listed on ebay, but no joy so far. I only want to sell them at face value & I AM NOT A TOUT!!!!

Thanks
November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post. :D

  • put them on ebay as a buy it now at the price you paid, or try the verve'a website and see if they have a forum and list them there, or scarlet mist. but always make to check the buyers details to avoid payment problems.

You could try Scarlett Mist - but not sure how well tickets sell on there.
  • tomorrow e bay have a cheap listing day as long as you sell them using paypal, its only 10p to start your listing at any price you want, alternatively you could place them in the free ad papers loot/admag or adtrader, you can do it through there web site
  • Maybe you could also advertise them in your local paper? Most will do free ads?

Or put up a notice in a local shop? Will cost about 20p for the week.

  • I've used www.scarletmist.co.uk and it's a really good site.

Same as LinnT can't vouch for demand on there. Worth a try tho.
  • How about trying Seatwave? Basically you list your tickets for sale on their site and then when your tickets have sold you will send them directly to the buyer, usually via registered post. Seatwave will supply you with a Seatwave sellers pack including a pre-paid envelope so the buyer has confidence.

If I was buying, I'd probably trust this kind of system better than Ebay.

I would also recommend SCARLETMIST. I have used this twice for selling tickets ( Take That and also more recently Foo Fighters ). On both occasions I was contacted within 24 hrs from prospective buyers. I'm not sure if they do payments via Paypal but I had a cheque for the Take That tickets, and waited until it had cleared. For the Foo Fighters because it was only 2 days before the concert the buyer paid cash on collection.
I refuse to pay extortionate prices on ebay and for this reason I use Scarletmist and sell at face-value ( incl booking fee ).:T
  • Wow, great response! Expected loads of abuse, but you've all been so kind!! Will definatly look into the sites detailed above. Thank you all again.
